Newberry Manor, a 'vacation rental home', is a restored 1910 farmhouse updated with all your modern conveniences. Where possible, the original features have been retained, including beadboard walls and ceilings, hardwood floors and wood-burning fireplaces. The grand staircase is still the showpiece it was in the early 1900s.
The Newberry Manor property was originally the largest dairy farm in Stokes County. While the front porch offers views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the back shows many of the original outbuildings, including the caretakers cabin, the milk house, barn, workshops and smokehouse.
Newberry Manor is located in close proximity to Hanging Rock State Park, voted #1 state park in 2012. USA Today lauded Hanging Rock State Park as one of the top 20 state parks in the nation.
The beautiful clear, pristine Dan River is close by which offers kayaking, canoeing, tubing and fly-fishing. Other outdoor adventures include:
- hiking trails
- horseback riding
- antique shopping
- wine tours
- Stokes County Arts Council activities
